May 2nd: Routine

Each morning i wake up
with two cats in my bed
one lies calmly at my feet
the other at my head

when they begin to feel me stir
they start to move around
hopping off the bed
and meowing on the ground

i follow them to their bowls
and the third cat joins the group
i fill their bowls with runny meat
that kinda looks like soup

i make my all-time favourite drink
a hot pot of coffee
and then i find a spot on the couch
and write a poem just for me

when my poem is all done
and my first cup of coffee is through
i make a list of tasks to finish
and i always think of you

what would make you happiest?
clean bedding or vacuumed rugs?
what about a girl who's had the perfect day
and greets you eagerly with hugs?

I hope your day is going well.
please know mine is very good
i am excited for 5:30
when you reenter our little hood

May 1st: Blue

The sky is very blue today

with not a cloud in sight

something about days like this

makes me feel right

i love the sunshine on my skin

and the way the light breeze cools

i love how leaves reflect the light

like little emerald jewels

on days like this i must be out

i can not be contained

on days when i'm forced to stay inside

i feel so restrained

maybe this is the reason why

i can not picture an office life

spending each day in a desk

would fill my mind with strife

but do i have the luxury

to live life how i want?

do i make enough to sustain

working at the restaurant?

am i good at anything

that pays like sitting in a desk

or do i have to come to terms

with a life i find grotesque?

for now i'll just enjoy the day

with skies so flawlessly blue

how will i know what i love

if i never attempt to do?

Black and White

Since i am just a little bit hungover from the excitement from last night I am posting a picture I took during the summer. I am starting the challenge by cheating, and i am sure it won't be the last time i cheat.

Happy New Year!

This year is a completely fresh start for me. It is the first time since i started kindergarten that i will not be attending school and I am excited to work on some of my passion projects.
